Tips for Camping with Kids
By Sandy Rajsic

Camping with children can be one of the greatest experiences you can have if you plan the trip right. This can be a great way to introduce your children to the wonders of nature. It is very exciting to look at things through your child's eyes.

If you start your children camping at a young age, they are more likely to have a lifetime of camping adventures. Camping with children as young as infants can be surprisingly easy. Babies are adaptable and sleep more than toddlers.

The most challenging age for camping with kids is the toddler age. Try to keep the toddler in a backpack or stroller. This will help to keep him safe and out of mischief. Try to have activities planned to keep them busy.

Pre-school age is a great time to introduce your child to the great outdoors. At this age, they are able to understand and enjoy the camping and hiking a lot more. After this age, children are more able to keep themselves busy and be helpful with camping chores. Any age is great to get them involved. You will probably have more luck and less stress if you don't start them when they are toddlers.

Starting out camping is an excellent learning opportunity for children of all ages. Outdoor activities benefit children and adults mentally and physically. Exercise is invigorating. Exposure to the outdoors can be a stress relief and lots of fun. It is important to leave extra time for every activity. Enjoy the time and don't rush around. This will only cause stress and upset everyone.
